Seeing Liam Powell stand there with bruises while Nick Dane and the others mocked him broke my heart. But the moment his father arrived, the power dynamic flipped instantly. It is rare to see a parent defend their child so fiercely in these stories. The contrast between the helpless student and the powerful father is the core of Raised in Shame, Crowned in Blood. Absolutely gripping storytelling.

Just when I thought the bullying outside the school gate would escalate, Molly pulled up in that white convertible. Her entrance was so cool and timely. It feels like Liam finally has a real support system beyond just his dad.
