Can we talk about the centaur character design? Seeing a shirtless horse man with glowing green eyes flexing in a grocery store aisle is not something I expected today. The way he interacts with the black-clad leader adds such a weird dynamic to the group. Truly unique creature designs here.
Grocery Store Apocalypse
There is something oddly satisfying about the characters stocking shelves while the world ends outside. The contrast between the mundane task of organizing bottles and the looming threat of monsters creates a weirdly cozy vibe. It feels like a survival sim game come to life.
Neon Sign Vibes
The shot of the hotel with the glowing green neon sign at night was stunning. It stands out so brightly against the dark, ruined city streets. It gives off major cyberpunk meets post-apocalypse energy. The lighting details in this sequence were absolutely top tier.
Giant Bug Nightmare
Just when things felt safe, that giant skeletal centipede bursts out of the ground! The purple electricity and the sheer size of the monster compared to the heroes was terrifying. The sound design must be incredible to match that visual impact. My heart rate actually spiked.

The blue-haired knight drawing his sword with those glowing blue runes was a peak moment. The detail on the weapon and the intensity in his eyes showed he was ready for business. It is classic fantasy tropes executed with modern animation flair. Ready to slice some bugs!

The scene where money and cards are flying everywhere while the chibi characters celebrate is pure dopamine. It captures that greedy joy of finding rare loot perfectly. Even the horse man gets in on the action, rolling in the cash. Greed is a universal language apparently.
From Cute to Creepy
I love how What We Cook Today? Zombies! switches from cute super-deformed styles to gritty horror instantly. Seeing the blonde girl go from blushing to fighting mode shows great character range. The emotional whiplash keeps me glued to the screen every single time.
Desert Truck Chase
That white truck kicking up dust in the barren wasteland looked like a scene from a high-budget action movie. The physics of the suspension and the debris flying around felt so real. It sets the stage for a long journey across dangerous lands beautifully.
Leader in Black
The guy in the black coat with the gold jewelry has such a commanding presence. Whether he is holding a megaphone or fanning out magical cards, he looks like he knows exactly what he is doing. His confident smirk is definitely my favorite part of the character design.
Chibi Chaos to Centaur Cash
The tonal whiplash in What We Cook Today? Zombies! is insane. One minute we are watching adorable chibi characters staring at loot crates, and the next, a muscular horse-man is drooling over magical currency. The animation style shifts are jarring but somehow fit the chaotic energy of the show perfectly.
